Ignite Auburn

Last Thursday night FCA put on this thing called Ignite Auburn. Coach Gene Chizik and Chette Williams spoke along with several athletes who shared their testimony, and musical guests. I attended the event, and loved it. It was great to hear from the godly leaders we have on campus. That was the same night that all this Cam Newton drama started stirring up, and I was so glad that Jay Jacobs, Gene Chizik, along with many players were in attendance, and worshipping the Lord rather than checking all the gossip going on outside of us. Hopefully they will continue to have these Ignite Auburn worship experiences. There was such a diverse group of students there, yet we all got something out of it, and were all worshipping the same God. Cool, right?

Chette Williams spoke and shared how when he played at Auburn one football player on the team made a difference in his life by telling him everyday "God Loves you" and "I am here if you ever need to talk."
Coach Chizik speaking and encouraging and challenging the students.
(I did not take these pictures.. but gives you a taste of the night)

Here are some pictures from the Ole Miss Game. It was a fun trip, but find myself loving Auburn even more after these away games. The Grove was cool, but too crowded for my style.

Elizabeth and I after an Auburn Win!

I am looking forward to this weekend, I am going to be sitting the in regular seats with my dad since Auburn has not beaten Georgia in 4 years, and we sat together at that last win.

I leave you with this.. life > college football.
I think we all (me included BIG TIME) may get a little too wrapped up in rankings, players, and all the stuff that goes along with football and we have to remind ourselves:
1. It is just a sport
2. There is more important problems going on in this world
3. These players are people too. What makes them more special than me or you? We are both a child of God.
4. These players are children. What gives someone the right to say such cruel things about others? Remember the golden rule?

That is all. Enjoy your week!
