Christmas Countdown

As I blog the rain is pouring, and I am so thankful for this dry building to write in.

Last week we were out of school for the whole week, so I decided to leave Auburn about 9:30 pm Thursday since my classes were cancelled Friday. I was nervous to drive alone that late anyways, but made it to Birmingham with out any trouble. It was once I hit Birmingham that the red and blue flashing lights came on behind me and my heart dropped. I was very confused because I was not texting, or speeding, or anything that I thought was illegal. I was nervous with it being 11:30 and so I pulled into an open gas station. The officer told me I did not use my blinker when changing lanes one time. I mean serious, give me a break? When you are the ONLY car on the road, is it that big of a deal? Thankfully, he really was nice, and did not write me up, or give me a ticket. But in the future: USE YOUR BLINKER.

Friday (the reason I drove home so late) I went to my little cousin's Thanksgiving program. It was so precious, and worth the drive home! It was great to set the mood of my break by hearing those sweet voices sing about what they are thankful for.
Here we are after the program.

The next few days were full of sleeping late, snacking, and enjoying being at home. One night Reeves and I cooked dinner for the family and watched Avatar afterwards. We cooked Fettuccine Alfredo and grilled shrimp, along with salad, bread, and homemade chex mix for a movie snack. I would say we were pretty good cooks!

For Thanksgiving we went to my mom's parents and spent it together with aunts, uncles, and cousins too. As I watched the Macy's Day Parade I thought about the time when I marched in it. Of course, I was in it the ONLY year it has ever rained. During the parade I also kept wishing I was in NYC to spend Thanksgiving. I just think that the city is so fun, and so special, and hope that I can live there in a few years.

This year at Thanksgiving (you can tell AC and I stick together!)

The next day I got up, and was getting ready and realized I forgot to pack any pants to wear. This would be quite an issue since I had 3 days left up there and only shirts to wear. Mom and I strapped on our brave faces and hit the mall on Black Friday. We ended up buying a few more items than just jeans, but we made it back in time for the game! We split watching the game such that we watched the first half at mom's side and second half at dad's side. What an Iron Bowl that was.. I still cannot believe it, 28-27.
Me, Reeves, and Anna Chason cheering for our tigers.

Saturday we went to my uncles hunting property and did Thanksgiving with that side of the family. It is fun being together, but it gets a little crazy with all those grandkids!

Being back in Auburn bring its own stresses as I am entering two weeks of a packed schedule! I am going to attempt to buckle down for exams and hope that they all go well. This weekend is the SEC Championship and hope we can pull out another win.

I guess this catches you up on how I spend my Thanksgiving Break.
Let the Christmas Countdown Begin!
