Part 2. NYC.

Us in Times Square!

So I have been thinking the best way to tell you about the New York part of the trip because so much happened and I am not going to believe that anyone cares to know a second by second replay about the trip. I am going to try and give a quick recap of the trip, but just know we ATE A LOT.

Highlights:
DAVID LETTERMAN... We arrived in New York about 1:10pm and were able to get a cab so easily. Kaitlin Barton had a connection with the David Letterman show and we could get tickets if we could make it to Times Square by 2:30. We did not have time to stop by the apartment to drop out luggage off so we met the ticket man with suitcases in hand and then ran to David Letterman. While we were in the show we left our luggage in the box office and afterwards I lost my pillow. Sad times :( But I did get to see Bradley Cooper and he is just as beautiful in person!

THE WAFFLE TRUCK... If you are planning a trip to New York soon you MUST CHECK IT OUT. They tweet each day a different location and you go find them. You get Belgian waffles with yummy toppings.

Outside Waffle and Dinges!

NBC STORE... okay, so we did not get to go to the NBC Studio tour which I was upset about, but I did get to visit rockefeller center and see my future place of employment(watch out Kathie Lee) and visit the store. I got a today show apron so I can feel like I am on the show cooking and a friends magnet. That was a huge success because I got a souvenir from 2 of my favorite shows.
Don't you think we look good together. I cannot wait to join him Monday-Fridays!

JERSEY BOYS... I had done my research like any good "Harriet the Spy" would and learned about a Student Rush program. Many Broadway shows have student discounts that you can get a very cheap ticket if you go the day of to the box-office and show your student ID. Jersey Boys was one that did this program so we went and got tickets. We only paid $27 for our tickets but once we got them they said PARTIAL VIEW. Thankfully we could see almost everything on the stage, just not all of the backdrop, so it ended up being well worth it. If you are a student I strongly encourage you to research this before you go.

DYLANS CANDY BAR... We went to Dylan's Candy bar which was opened by Ralph Lauren's daughter, 3 floors of candy.. it was great!

such a happy place
So many other things happened but I do not want to bore you with all these stories!

Living in a little apartment (thanks again B&K for sharing your home with us for a few days) I learned some things about everyone:
Kaitlin can get ready in 45 minutes, even though she takes her time most days, when she needs to be ready on time, she can actually do it.

Kaitlin and I at Brinkley's getting Diet Coke! I loved the name because it reminded me of You've Got Mail (the dog's named Brinkley!)

Caroline is a beast at navigating New York. She is so good about helping us find our way and was great about planning the trip and making our reservations before the trip.

You should be a travel agent.
Jessica is always up for something and loves to socialize with the strangers that pass by, she also loves St. Patrick's Day parades and like me is a big Friends fan.
Papi visits the city.
Annie was great about navigating the Subways with her iPhone App, and she also can not remember the plot of plays, movies, shows for the life of her. She also has a kind heart and gave the homeless man a quarter (even though that was not enough to buy a song on the iPod he was holding)
This is at our second waffle truck trip. Annie and I split both times with a waffle and fudge and strawberries on top.

Pictures from the trip:
Beautiful day in Central Park.
M&M store in Times Square
Both wearing our purchases at dinner one night where we met some of our Alpha Chi friends!

Dinner before Jersey Boys!
We went to the Stardust Diner after Jersey Boys. We had a blast dancing with the Wanna-be Broadway stars and enjoyed some delicious desserts!

We visited FAO Schwarz and they played on the big piano

Lunch at the Shake Shack. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to the City.
We ate lunch at the Boathouse in Central Park. It was a beautiful day and we had a great view!

This is us with Brittany after dinner. It was great visiting with her and I was glad she could join us for some of the time we were there.

All in all, I had a wonderful Spring Break and so thankful I got to spend a week with these great girls. So much more happened that I would love to share about, but just hard to write it all out! I can promise you that a lot of laughter went on!

Thanks for reading. I love and appreciate any comments, so feel free to leave me a note!
